An Agriculture and farm based Selenge province is located at the beautiful forest-steppe region in northern Mongolia and is the home of the Great Khaans of Mongol Empire. This is one of rich provinces of animals, water and plants. The largest river in Mongolia Selenge flows through Selenge aimag and is named after the Selenge River. There are many lakes, big and small rivers and springs such as Orkhon, Tuul, Kharaa and Eruu.

Day 1. Amarbayasgalant. After meeting at the hotel in Ulaanbaatar, we will drive to the Amarbayasgalant Monastery, a beautiful monastery which was dedicated to Zanabazar, the first Bogd Khaan, a religious and cultural leader. The overall design is Chinese despite some Mongolian and Tibetan influence. We will have picnic lunch on the way. We will arrive at the camp late in the afternoon and overnight at the ger camp ger.
Day 2 . Amarbayasgalant Monastery. After breakfast, we will visit the monastery, a place of a bright spirits, religious intelligence and admiration of local architectures. Officially, Amarbayasgalant monastery was the retreat place of the “Dalai Lamas” of the Mongols, the Bogd Khaan Javtsundamba. It is located in the beautiful valley of Iven River on the foot of Burenkhan Mountain in Selenge province. The monastery was established by order of Manju Emperor Enkh-Amgalan to cherish and give a respect to Mongol’s first Bogd Khaan Undur Gegeen Zanabazar. The architecture is traditional with Tibetan style of temple building, curved roofs, mystical gargoyles, mandarin inscriptions and imperial colors. 3730 kg of silver from the state were used to build a magnificently styled place for Buddha practicing. Huge numbers of rare religious relics, books, sutras, thangkas and Buddhas were destroyed during the communist purge. The monastery was being restored by UNESCO from 1975 until it reopened in 1990. Overnight at the ger camp.
Day 3. Ulaanbaatar. After breakfast, we will ride a horse for couple of hours then we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Picnic lunch on the way. We will drop you at your hotel in Ulaanbaatar.
