EASTERN MONGOLIA

DELUUN BOLDOG – Deluun Boldog is considered as a birthplace for Chinggis Khaan, close to today’s Dadal soum, a beautiful forest area in Khentii region. The region contains trails and lakes for visitors as well as monuments. Dadal Sum housed one of three great lamaist temples consecrated to Genghis Khan, but which was ruined in the 1930s. There is a stone monument dedicated to 800 years anniversary of Great Khaan’s birth.

KHERELEN RIVER –  The Kherlen is one of the three famous rivers which flow in the Khentii region, and it flows for 1264 kms to the Dalai lake in China. The river is rich in many species of fishes and migrated birds in summer. The honorary monument at Khodoo Aral near the Kherlen River was dedicated to Chinggis Khan.

GANGA LAKE – Ganga lake is a saltwater lake located in Dariganga sum of Sukhbaatar province. The lake lies on the transition zone between the southern steppes and the Gobi desert and surrounded by unique landscape of lakes, steppes, and sand dunes. The lake and its wetlands is an important breeding and resting area for endangered migratory birds, including the Great Crested Grebe, the Whooper Swan, and the Ruddy Shelduck.
