TERELJ NATIONAL PARK – The Terelj National Park is located 80km from Ulaanbaatar, its grassy steppe landscape with gigantic granite rock formation (Turtle Rock) make this place well known to the visitors. Beautiful meadows carpeted with edelweiss and a variety of wild flowers welcome visitors to have horse riding and trekking in the area. There is Arayabala meditation temple nestles on top of the hills.
HUSTAI NATIONAL PARK – The park lies in the foothills of southern Khentii mountain range and it is the place where you can see wild horse called Takhi known as Przewalski horse to the world. The wild horses survive in nature by themselves because they have been reintroduced successfully to their homeland after 40 years of extinction. Currently, the number of Takhi has already reached more than 220. The takhi has the figure of a compact, small domestic horse with a strong neck and heavy limbs. The coat is similar to domestic horses. It varies from dark brown around the mane (which stands erect) to pale brown on the flanks and yellowish-white on the belly.
GUN GALUUTAI NATIONAL PARK – The Gun-Galuut National Park is located 130km southeast of Ulaanbaatar, offers diverse ecosystem in comparatively small area. The high mountains, steppes, rivers, lakes and wetlands are well-kept in its original condition. The mountains of Baits and Berkh – a home land of rare creatures such as wild sheep, Ikh-Gun and Ayaga lakes – a paradise of birds.
BOGD NATIONAL PARK – TSETSEE GUN PEAK – Bogd Khaan Mountain has been the most ancient national park for 300 years. The Bogd Khaan Mountain is a blessed mountain and its religious importance kept it untouched for many years. The religious ceremonies take place annually at the highest peak of Tsetsee Gun which is 2268m above sea level. The Manzushir Monastery is the key attraction in the area. The monastery was built in the 18th century but was ruined by the communists in the 1930s. This monastery was known throughout Mongolia for its religious services and its celebration of Tsam mask dancing.
